What advice would you give to future brides for their wedding day?
Don’t stress over things that are out of your control – weather, childrens behaviour, that uncle or friend that always has too much to drink! Just worry about the things that are important to you and things that are meaningful to you so you can look back on the day with great memories.
What advice would you give to future grooms for their wedding day?
Don’t drink too much on day..you want to remember as much as you can!
How did you tame your wedding day nerves?
I was more anxious the days leading up to the wedding but on the actual day I was pretty chilled which was good! Just make sure you have those closest to you around on the day, people you can sit down, talk to and relax with in the morning, this will set the mood for the rest of the day.
What one wedding moment will last with you both forever?
The first time we locked eyes after my mum raised my veil.
What was your wedding inspiration?
I envisioned lush green lawns, lots of greenery and stone. Something about stone paving or pillars seems romantic to me. For the reception I envisioned just white linen with lots of different types of white roses and greenery in all different shaped glass vases dotted around all the tables and candles which is exactly what we had and couldn’t of been happier with the reception or decor.
What song did you walk down the aisle to?
‘The Wedding Song’ – Angus & Julia Stone
Any advice for those planning their wedding now?
Just remember the wedding is really a celebration of you making the decision to spend the rest of your life with someone. To me it is all about celebrating that with your family and friends so always keep that in mind and try not to let the wedding get bigger than you both. The day and night will go so unbelievably fast so take the chance to sit down and take it all in.
What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?
Travelling and exploring together and eventually starting a family together
Any words you would like to say about having Tahnee as your photographer?
Tahnee was awesome, she did my brothers wedding a few years ago and everyone including us were so impressed with the photos and have had her in mind since then (even though we weren’t even engaged back then!) She helped us get organised and offered us lots of helpful advice and tips to help everything run smoothly. She has a great eye for detail and shoots some really unique shots, highly recommend!!
